How SHOULD I reset the ECU

Hey guys,

When resetting the ecu, does one do it when the engine is cold or already warmed up?

Thanks

Wouldn't really matter, as the ECU will know what the sensors are reading when you hook it back up to the power

Unless you have a reason to switch, don't. There are numerous posts that show the harm to higher octane.

Nothing to back this up, but personally, I would do it with a cold engine.

I wouldn't say harmful, but the ECU is not mapped to high octane fuel. Resetting it won't change the map.

I don't know what the factory map is set for but I do know that the ecu will 'self tune' for various gas and air. As long as you don't put leded fuel in it, it should keep the advance higher with higher octane gas. If you put in leded race fuel in, it will mess up your O2 sensors and cause problems.

Leaded fuel will foul out your O2 sensors and destroy your stock cat. Don't do it.
