Low clearance Jack

Low clearance Jack
I was wondering- don't know too much about Evo's but I was interested in getting a low clearance jack for it. The one I have is difficult to fit under and i heard they make low clearance jacks. Anyone have any suggestions for me for where to get one and about how much they cost?

when you're using the jack it doesn't support the entire weight of the car, only a portion of it (at least 2 wheels are on the ground). Besides, you're always suppose to use the jack only for lifting the car onto jack stands. So, in that respect you're never underneath the car with only the jack (at least I'm not). I always have 2 jackstands on each side plus 1 jack on the front tow hook.

So the second listing is ok to get under the front side to change out tires etc. ? How much clearnce is there actually on an evo? I assume some "low clearance" are lower than others right?

If you don't want to get a second jack (I'm assuming that you already have a floor jack) you can always make some small wooden ramps. I used 1" X 12" boards (which is actually about 3/4" thick) and stacked lengths of 16", 12", 10" and 8" to give me some more lift before I slide my jack under the car. They're also just high enough that I don't really need to jack the car up anymore if all I'm doing is an oil change. AND If I need a little more height, I slide an extra piece of 2X4 between the top of the jack-plate and the hardpoint on the car.
To use the mini-ramps: stop the car, butt a ramp up to each tire, and drive up. Just don't overdrive the end of the ramp.
