About my car and me

Ok guys, i have been apart of this forum for a long time but have only really talked a few times. I usually come in and read info and every once in a while ask questions. Nobody here really knows who i am because i haven't ever talked about my car or me. So here we go.

Hi i'm Andy (i have been sober for 2 days) I have owned my lancer oz for 2 years now. i live in boonville, missouri. I know a decent amount about engines, and close to jack **** about turbo's. I love cars more than anything. everything i know about engines i learned on my own playing around and reading. I put a 360 into a dodge cornet and that was my biggest (a ***** to do) project i have done with engines.

My car: I have a few mods on right now, AEM cold air intake, Greddy muffler with 2.75 stainless steel piping from manifold back (no cat), montogie (however you spell that crap) mr3 gunmetal rims with 225/45/17 tires, altezza tails. I have 2 infinity kappa perfect 12's with a rockford 1000 bd amp and putting in a clarion 935vd dvd player in next week. I bought a second engine not to long ago with only 4000 miles on it and finished tearing it apart. I am rebuilding it with forged pistons, rods, turbo stage 2 camshaft, ported intake manifold, boring fuel rail. Everything including turbo will be cryotreated, haven't heard of many people doing it so i wanted to try it. lot of other minor stuff to. Just got my turbo in today for it also. It is a t3 turbo super t70 with a t28 flange (looks beautifull). Anways hope to get pictures on soon.

any questions just ask

Well...looks like performance is your game. And you got it going on my friend. A question...where'd you find stage anything cams for the OZ? And as well...how'd you fit the 225 tires in there ( rolled inners or what)? Good luck with the turbo setup. Post pics during the install would be sweet.

sorry guys meant to say 205/45/17. I have so many numbers running through my head from classes right now. Yeah the cams i am getting from vision imports (rpw cams). The only thing left to by before i get everything cryo treated is the cams, pistons, and rods. Everything else is ready to go but taxes kicked my *** (owed 1000) so i'm going to be a little behind schedule. I couldn't decide if i wanted to do performance first or show but when my buddy moved back from arizona with his gst and i rode in it i was like ok i am doing the engine first. So when the engine is completed i am putting a extreme kit with fenders on and dropping the beast.

cryo treating brings down the tempeture of the metal parts and bring together the molecules in the metal making it more durable and stronger.

It's a treatment that brings down the temp of the metal below 120 degrees Kelvin, or about -150 celcius. Anything cryo treated has to be brought down to that temp inorder for the metal to become stronger. As for the process it is not a spray or an oil, it does not wear off. The treatment affects the entire peice through and through.

Check out this site, it has good info.

yeah looks like Shingen knows exactly what it is. Its something permanant and irreversible but you wouldn't want to get rid of it anyways. They pretty much put the parts in a machine and use liquid nitrogen to do it. The exact process i have no clue how it goes so i can't tell you that.

andy, where is boonville compared to st.louis? I'm going turbo here in a few weeks maybe a few months. I already bought the kit and am going to have it shipped in by the end of the week. Maybe we could do an install thing?

boonville is 20 mins past columbia. Its right off I-70. when you get near it you will see all kinds of Isle of Capri Casino signs. That would be cool if we could get together. It will be a little while before i can get my stuff together since i am redoing everything but my buddy that just graduated from UTI would be able to help also if we needed any.

I know the question isn't addressed to me but it seems like everyone and their brother is going FI in one way or another. Whether it's worth it or not is up to the person you talk to. There are guys on this board that are getting 300 WHP, ask them if it is worth it to smoke Evos and STis on a roll...

With all the stuff that andy will be doing to his internals he will be pushing some serious power NA. If and when he goes FI he will be running a stronger engine so if it is his intention he could push the threshold of what our car is capable of. As far as how fast he will be running...
