I have launched the car, but only a handful of times. Never have had the clutch smell that I hear some talk about, but I did pull a 13.19 according to my friend's G'force. That run would be hard to duplicate since I had the wheels chirping without bogging the engine. Lauching is very hard to do in these cars, which is why I think allot of people burn up thier clutches trying to learn how to do it right. I know for a fact that I have bogged my evo several times before I got just the right amount of clutch slip.

I answered you through PM, but I will say this if you want to save your drivetrain, don't launch it... upgrade the clutch and the TC, and then do some mean stuff.
