Evo Owners how much do I need to make to be able to afford EVO

I'm just wondering how much you guys make in order to afford an Evo. I currently make 47k and my wife makes around 47k. We roughly bring home around 5200 a month after taxes. I have a mortgage of 1800, school bills, other bills, wife's car payment(250) and the most expensive expense two kids. I'm trying to figure out if I can afford an Evo or not. I currently have a 00 SI and thinking about trading it in. I just need to know how expensive it can be to have a stock Evo or how more I need to make in order to get one.

i think you'd be fine as long as you don't bring home a $600 or $700 payment.

if you choose to finance, save a bunch for a nice downpayment and you should be fine (depending on your credit, etc). Just dont trade your kids for the car. hehe.

Buy a rental property instead.

I vote no. Save your money. Especially since you have two kids. But you will get many opinions to the contrary. Misery loves company.

you and your wife rake in 90k together, you can get it, its not a 60k car, its 35k max, add 10k for goodies, youll be fine, as long as you already have a daily driver for the wife and kids

i make over 50 k a year, but w/ 2 kids???????? i'd probably skip on the evo. if you want a play car (using the wifes car during the week) buy something used.I don't have any kids so i don't really know how much they cost!, but it can't be too cheap. I love my evo, if you do get one, buy it used.

My wife doesnt work but i have 2 kids, 2 dogs a 2000 a month mortage, a landrover and my regular bills. I still bought an evo, traded my is300 for it. Just do it, my kids love the car and it hauls the family around just fine if i need to.

i make about 45k/year, renting (700), 24 years old, male, evo (500) and hella expensive insurance. the cash is tight. you can probably afford it, but if you've already got two kids, and a wife, you've got to think about them first (as far as savings and such goes, college funds maybe, trust fund in case something happens). if you can cover them comfortably i'm sure you can land a 500/month payment and be ok. then again what do i know. i'm young, single and stupid with nobody but myself to blame.

I think the road and track "wrap up" of its long term test car shows very well just how expensive it can be to own and properly maintain an Evolution. It's a great car that is more expensive to own then the mitsubishi lancer badge suggests.

However, 100k warrenty if you maintain it properly and don't modify is a big draw. 0% finaincing for five years even more so.

I put 10k down and budget 700 a month for Everything. That includes 360 payment, insurance, maintence and gas. I drive 9-10k miles per year. I am a new owner and hope it will be enough. Based on my research it should be.

This is why you buy it when your young and not tied down so when you get there its already paid off.

you need 1000000000000000 dollars. No, but really kids are going to be the biggest parasite on your bank account, so get ready for it.

Expect to budget in about ~$1000 a month on the safe side for your car. Goood luck hopefully you can make it happen.
