i would assume the motor and tranny doesn't work, and some minor problems. so would you buy it if it need a new motor and tranny for 15k? that's what i was thinking when i am buying mine. i paid 16k for a 03 gsr. bone stock and no sign of any mods. interior and exterior is like new and been hit by the passenger door (can tell by the vin number) and got a salvage title. test drove myself and a friend of mine it and feels great.

That is good advise, you should definately run carfax on it to see if anything serious happened to the car. And as others have said, would you buy this car if you found out that you need to buy another motor and trans.

I bought a used evo and got bent over and done raw. I would never recommend buying a evo used.

did this require a new head gasket, or a new motor? because thats what i am thinking happend to this one,

how much would it go for? i have no idea how much i can get this thing down to, but lets say 11.5k, whats it going to cost for the motor?

do u think he will sell it to you for 12k if the car only needs a new gasket. i was buying a s2000 for 13k and in the same situation as yours. the seller was selling it for 13k and i said i can take it right now, i knew it only cost couple hundred bucks to fix it. the seller said as a dealer he has to fix everything before selling it. after a week, everything was fixed and he raise price to 18k.

Yeah I'm with you, the undertray's missing. Get a lower price. Whoever worked on the car before didn't bother to put it back or didn't know what they were doing. Either case, I wouldn't go for it. Too suspicious.

Why not do a compression check ? , A leak down test ? does the motor turn over ? , What you offer for the evo should be dictated by what it will cost to get it running properly.
