05 sti owner, thinking about evos

I've been lurking here for a while, but i thought i'd introduce myself. I've got an 05 sti that im pretty happy with and I was thinking of adding an evo to the stable in the near future...

If you can afford both, add an Evo and have the best of both worlds.

I would stick with one or another, unless you just have 30k burning a hole in your pocket. My roomy had an 05 sti (untile he rolled it 3 times)and I have an 05 evo. We would trade back and forth from time to time and as different as the two cars are the performance is pretty close. To me it doesnt make sense to have two cars in the same class like that.

Buy some RWD roadster (or at least a RWD car) or a Truck to haul the STi around to track events... not an Evo

Yeah, if you can afford it and already have an STI, grab something plush and comfortable to cruise around in when you're not in the mood for the performance ride. That's what I use my wife's car for.

I feel you bro.. I had a WRX which was my worst nightmare but I always loved the STI. I currently drive an Evo 8MR and I love it but my girlfriend and I talked about getting an STI.

I would love to have both because I truly think they are one of the best cars ever made. Good luck on your 05 Evo purchase.

When you are ready to put money down and buy the car, they will let you drive it. Just sitting in the two cars you can feel the difference.

they want to run my credit just for a test drive. i dont want to do that. every time they run my credit, my score drops 2 points... i've been in evo's, especially in autox, but its different driving them there than on the street. an autox teammate has an 04 sti putting down 370 whp and that thing is a beast too- not a lot of difference between a prepped sti and a prepped evo...
