sounds to me like a mathematical impossibility! $400k mtg = at least $2500/month Evo at least $500/month, LR basically the same, kids $1k/month each so we're up to $5500 not really including insurance (medical and car), food, util., gas, entertainment etc... and $50k/12 = $6k BEFORE taxes... how do you manage???

I guess you must be in debt up to your eyeballs. I earn $100k+ and couldn't afford your lifestyle.

We all know that's impossible. My wife and I make a combined $183k a year with a crappy $230k townhouse, the Evo, and a Lexus GX470. We are about to buy a $400k house, but that's only because we're selling this piece of crap townhouse for $400k and using the equity as a huge downpayment on the next one. This is also without kids...there's no way in hell that $50k/year pays for all of that, so you should go ahead and tell us about the big lawsuit you won.

50k - 15-16% taxes = $42,000/12 = $3,500/month - $2,500) ($400k mortgage over 30 years) = $1000. So, with $1000 a month after paying for just your mortgage, you afford an Evo payment, a Land Rover payment, the insurance on both, food, utilities, water, life insurance, clothing, etc etc?
