Would u trade an 05 MR for an 06 RS?
Checked out the IX today, and they looked plenty sweet....
My 05 MR just tipped the odo at 10,000 miles. Where I'm at on the loan, and what an RS costs, I think I could possibly trade it in for an 06 almost straight across. I might have a small equity in it, and may very well end up with a bit lower payment afterward.
Would you consider swapping out an MR for an RS? I would be giving up the 6-speed, bilsteins, power windows, abs, and BBS wheels. In exchange for MIVEC, brand new tires, clutch, brakes, 10,000 less miles etc and less weight. I have silver now, and the red looks really good
What would you do?

I've never driven a non-MR. Can anyone comment, having lots of seat time in both the MR and other EVOs, if the Bilsteins really make a big difference?
Also, in some other thread on evom, a guy said that lacking the wing gives like 30 more miles per tank of gas. That would be great. Am thinking the insurance may be a bit less on an RS.

Hoop, I know you have an MR, have you riden in an RS enough to describe the difference in noise level and ride quality?
Thanks

I am finding links like below that suggest the RS does indeed have ABS. Plus it gained 20lbs over 05 so maybe ABS is why?

I forgot to look at the window sticker. Can anyone confirm?

I would say keep the MR.. the Ix is cool and all but if the USDM evo 9 used the same turbo on the JDM ones it might be wise to upgrade the turbo ASAP. there are a lot of people over here with evo ix having problems with their turbos.

Simply get a quote. I'm sure you know already that you can get quotes online.
About your dilema: I'd test drive the RS for more than a block. Any dealer that sees a customer pull up in a car that is comparable or that costs more should be more than willing to give you the keys for a test drive. I remember one member here that owned/owns an MR that was curious one day and test drove an RS. He said the RS felt quicker overall. This was with the VIIIs. With the improved response from MIVEC and quicker ratios ... wow, I don't know. Give it go, man, and let us know about it.
