K&N filter...stock air box?

I want to hear the turbo more but I don't want to spend money on a intake, bov, exhaust, ect.......If I add a K&N filter to my stock EVO IX will I be able to hear the turbo more?
Thanks

With the K&N, you do hear the turbo more, but only after you do the exhaust to to help get it out the backend faster. I did the K&N first and didn't notice a difference, after I did my exhaust, I hear the turbo more.

I really started to hear my turbo after i installed my downpipe, with the drop in you tend to hear the intake a little more than stock

Well, I just have the catback and I can hear it a bit more than stock + K&N. I guess when my downpipe arrives and I add that and the high flow cat, I'm in for a treat.

The answer to the question is "no." Don't listen to all these weird answers. I have a full, catless exhaust, the K&N drop-in, and a JDM MR DV. You only hear one sound from car, and that's exhaust. No whooshes, no jet plane intake sounds...just exhaust.

What are the performance gains if someone adds a drop in K&N filter? I know someone said 1 to 2 tenths of a second but how much more power? I'm just wondering if it will be noticeable.

No, of course not. We're only talking 3-4whp. The guy who dropped 1-2 tenths was just talkin crazy. He may have improved by 1-2 tenths, but that was all driving - it had nothing to do with the filter.

If you want to hear the turbo and the BOV more with the panel filter, take the lid off your airbox.

There is no way to hear your turbo with stock intake. you need to change the intake. once you change it to the after market one, other drivers will hear your turbo and bov sound too.

why is it all that important for you that others can hear your turbo and bov. they shouldn't be able to hear it when you pass them up anyway, right.
