Dude, sorry to say but the UK has had Evos since 1996 or even earlier than us PHilippines started having it in our showrooms (we had the Evo IV in 1996). So do not tell me that the Evos of the UK were fake since 1996 or more, when the US only had them 2003.

Well I would even consider the US Evo as not the "real" Evo since they are totally different from the other Evos marketed in Asia and Japan. First we all got SAYC/ACD, the US model doesnt have. We all share the same headlights and tailights, the US is different. For the Evo IX, the US is the only one that has the Evo IX MR, but in Japan, Europe, and here, we have the GSR, GT and RS trim models. For the Evo VIII MR, the Asian and Europe market all got blackened headlights, same tailights (except for the badging in the UK), our MR logo says "MR" only instead of "MR Edition" found in the US market. And last but not least, our regular Evo VIII has 6-speed compared to the regular US Evo VIII model that only has 5-speed.

No im not bashing the US Evo. I like the US Evo, they are easy to modify due to the lack of electronic gadgets like ACD (for the 2003 and 2004 models) and SAYC (less complicated). I am just telling u not to say that u guys get the real Evo compared to the ones in UK. Totally depends on the country laws (example RHD models are not allowed in Philippines so we basically get the RS and RS2 models).

what i do think is impressive is 140hp/litre from a 4 door, 2 litre, 4 cylinder.

for this reason i even respect honda(hate to say this) with their S2000 that has an amazing 120hp/liter from a 2000cc naturally aspirated engine.

anyways this is kind of off topic and are purely my own views.
at the end though....believe me..if they offered the viper or the Z06 down here in RHD..i'd sure as hell buy one.
Edit: nevermind. Its hopeless.

Now look at mitsu, do u think that mitsu will be able to spend that much of $$ by selling thier 400 HP+ evo uner for $40,000? And we dont even have that many people supporting the EVOs because most of them just think that it is a fixed up version of regular lancer. We are not gonna have any celebrities or business owners buying an evo so there goes the support from other people.

By the way, is any of these companies Japanese????

BMWs = no, Mercs = no, Porsches= no, Ferraris= no, Lambos = no

Now u can see that U.S. hates Japanese cars !!!

Point proven
This guy is wrong. The one car that makes him wrong

425HP SUBARU STI ESX edition, Japanesse car, faster then a viper, cheaper then a M3.

The first good answer I saw was sayanara's. The US doesn't get really fast/good imports not cuz of emissions, not cuz of octane, not cuz the government, its because of the consumers.

The new Skyline is 100% coming to the US and it will kill all those cars and the Z07, Viper SRT-1200, etc. Matter of fact, the more powerful model of the EVO X (suppose to be one with 300-325HP and one with 'round 400HP) will probably kill Z06, Viper SRT-10, & Ford GT.

im assuming the uk evo went thru a different tune to gain the hp, i dont know, so im not going to tell you that is whats making the extra hp.

the fq-320 has increased airflow for the extra ponies, what they did exactly i dont know

the fq 340 uses a "supplementry ecu" to gain more power.

now the question was what makes the uk evo better then the us evo, i dont know what parts are different from each model. i know this didnt answer the question but i hope it gets it moving in the right direction, and if i said something wrong correct me.

Ok, I'll answer

The UK cars arn't so much more powerful. There is 5 versions of the EVO in the UK, some of them more powerful but not all of them.

VIII260 - slower then US evo VIII - 0-60 in 6 sec.
FQ300 - I would say about equally to a IX
FQ320 - equal to BR330
FQ340 - equal to BR350
FQ400 - no US evo equal to it

All info relating to UK EVO VIII trims, not IX

Yes. Look, the Evo and STI are great cars for the price, but they can't really compete with cars costing 2 to 5 times as much.

Japanese against other highend performance cars:

After watching that, now what do you think?
I think that a Skyline no longer available and a two-gens old Evo beat a Z51 Corvette but lost to a Porsche Turbo in one particular contest. That's mildy interesting from a historical perspective but doesn't say anything about the currently available cars. It also doesn't say anything about quarter mile performance or how they'd stack up with different drivers or on a different--especially larger/faster course.

Sorry, I'm talking about cars that are currently in production, not vaporware.
