No SUV for the wife; if we can get an EVO wagon

I've finally talked my wife out of getting an SUV... on one condition. The evo station wagon. With gas prices like they are now and no relief in site an SUV would just kill me on gas. It's not that we can't afford it; I don't want to afford it. She drives an accord now and of course gets great mileage. An SUV would get about half the mileage. So, she was messing around on the internet and found the EVO wagon. She absolutely loves it!!! She watched a video of a guy tearing it up around a track about 3 times. After she got done watching she said "I don't want an SUV anymore... I want that!!" Now my only problem is getting Mitsu to produce the wagons for the US. How fun would it be to tear someone down in a station wagon? That would be fun.

volvo is about as close as your going to get here is the states to a performance turbo awd wagon. the market in us would never be enough for them to bring such a car here.

ya it would be fun but thats not going to happen....and consider this....in the house we have an evo, range rover and e55.....guess who gets the best gas milege....ding ding ding...THE RANGE ROVER lol....the evo by no means will save you money on gas...and lets say u did save 500$ a year in gas...your gonna pay a ton more in maintnence and insurance.....

so ya keep thinking mitsu is gonna bring an evo wagan just for you....look into an Audi A4 Avant or mercedes c wagon...or just about any other brand...i think ralliart has one

good luck

+1 on the Volvo! V70R is a killer sleeper car. über-safe for a family, great gas mileage, good looking IMO, 300hp turbo 4! Here's a link to an owner's photo gallery over at Swedespeed If you're really interested sign up on swedespeed.com and post your questions/comments in the R forum...some of the nicest guys and girls in the car forum world. Only think I would say about the R is that there is a somewhat limited aftermarket (nothing even close to the EVO) but major players like EVOLVE, IPD, and BSR are great companies. PM me if you have any volvo questions
Gorgeous interior too...

If there is a market in the US for wrx wagons, s4 wagons, and volvo wagons surely there is a niche for the EVO. That doen't mean it will happen, but I can still dream.

Gas savigs is simple... Try to follow along!
Chevy tahoe 12mpg or so city and 18 max highway. Unless you believe their BULL $%@# saying over 20 mpg
Evo 18-20 mpg city and 26 or better mpg on the highway.
I'm no mathematician but the numbers are pretty simple.

Just buy a ford escape hybrid. Personally, I'm waiting for the 2008 Prius (to add to my '06) with the test mule getting as much as 113mpg!!! With gas over $4/gal in some places now, it's (sadly) time to actually think of that...

The Evo wagon will never be seen in the usa
