I actually bought my car from an expecting dad. Stock GSR suspension feels a bit harsh but hey, if the mom is ok with it, go for it.

Ive actually ridden a mullerized buddy club coilovers. It rode a ton better than stock, particularly on the street, time to upgrade

If I knew in Dec. what I know now, I wouldn't have got the 9. Safety isn't a concern for the EVO nor should it be, it's a rally car. I wasn't thinking about my soon to be daughter when I got the car. I was thinking it's sedan and my wife probably won't care. Well, after having the baby and seeing how there isn't much protection for the occupants of the EVO, I would rather have my daughter travel in my wifes car. Don't get me wrong, I will have to take my daughter in the EVO from time to time but I will be extra careful.

I thought I had read it all until I ran across this post. what kind of cars do you think the evo's are. They ride very well unless you live on a brick road. If you think the evo is to ruff for a newborn which I have, Please don't put them in a heavy duty 4x4 truck cuz mine rides much stiffer then the evo.

I've had to wean my daughter off of my evo! We'd put her in the car and five minutes into the drive she was OUT! We picked up a Pacifica to drive her, and all her stuff, around but she's always crying in it. I believe she thinks that the car isn't moving!
The Evo doesn't "Shake" your baby, it VIBRATES!
I hadn't realized how much it vibrated until we had someone ridding with my baby girl in the back at told us that the car seat was vibrating like crazzzZZZZZZZ...

My son is two weeks old now....I used to think that my car would shake the shizit out of him but he likes it...puts him to sleep..He's been riding in my 03 on eibach springs since we left the hospital..so I think jus try to see if the baby likes it or not. Just make sure he's in his car seat good...

stock Evo suspension is a wee bit rough IMO for a new born. MR suspension is at the limit I would say - just my opinion.

After a feeding there will be a good chance the baby will throw up in your Evo if he/she gets in the car seat. Im not joking.

I wonder how many of those saying that the ride is too rough are actually parents...

My son rides around in my Evo all the time and has since the day I brought him and my wife home from the hospital. He falls asleep faster in the Evo than in my wife's Charger. If the ride was too rough he would not fall asleep AT ALL.

My daughter was born premature so we were worried but the docs told us nothing to worry about, we didn't drive her too much in the evo until she could hold her head up, but I think the exhaust noise is worse than the ride quality issue for us. Plus I can't put all the stuff in the truck like we can in my wifes suv, but it's all good and yeah she does fall asleep quicker in my evo for some wierd reason.

My son's first car ride was in the EVO. He was screaming all the time while putting him in the car, but as soon as we got going he quieted down. Then Fell asleep before getting home. He loves it. The harsh ride really quiets him, and the little jiggling helps him to go to sleep real quick. But if he is really fussy I just give it a little extra gas and he stops crying instantly.

BTW read the book "happiest baby on the block" and you will see that jiggling and bouncing is one thing they recommend to calm a baby. Thats what they get on the inside before they are born.

my 2cents

hey

have a 4 month old - have taken her home from the hospital and have been an avid passenger in the evo ever since...yeah the ride is harsh at times but once the car's in motion, she's out like a light! I've got to say though, if it wasn't for the smoother streets out here in Indy vs. the potholio streets of chicago, it might be a different story...if not, just buy some bilsteins and call it a day

Daughter has been riding in the Evo since birth. I don't think the car rides hard enough to cause problems. No Ill effects except the occasional 360 degree headspin.

The Evo is not for infants to ride in. although it is safe because there is no way[exagerating] you would loose control of the evo...but as for jerking and shaking, the baby might get problems. i have a baby sis too.

by the way congratz to your future child

My kids love my car my 1 year old son says vroom vroom everytime he sees it in the garage. My daughter is 5 and she says daddy that is a cool car you have to keep that one. Anyway don't drive like a madman with the kids and you should be fine.
