To only run a test pipe....

I'm planning on putting a test pipe, until i can collect my paychecks and get a Buschur Stage 1 (with downpipe, cat back, etc..) is there any harm in running just a test pipe? (my friend said the "check engine light" will come on if i do so) anyway to get that off without having to go to the dealer?

Thanks a lot,
Jason B

I have the ultimate racing 2.5" test pipe and it doesn't throw any cel's. Nice performance for so little spent and it still sounds like stock. I wasn't planning on getting a turboback which is why I opted to get this, but I changed my mind lol. Just save up man.

the ultimate racing test pipe doesnt guarantee no CEL.... just less chance of it, depending on the car

Thats what i'm planning to do (save up and get the whole thing) but till then, i saw a 3' test pipe on ebay for $60 couldnt resist a little more oomph for the while...so all in all, no problems for the car if i choose to run it for a month or two? just makin sure...

don't waste your money, its better spent on the TBE. if you search around there is a cheaper and more reliable option using a spark plug... my brain is fried right now so i can't think of the exact piece to use.

same thing goes for the test pipe, just wait until you have enough $ to get a full tbe.

nope, you may shoot some flames during deceleration or hard shifting, as I beleive the evo runs rich from the factory. And you will probably get a CEL.

Besides that, nothing
