hard engine break in

You actually do not have to break in the motors that the evos have. They are run for 5000 mile with a load put on the before they are put in the car. So the hole break in period is bull. It just depends on how stupid the driver is. If you launch the car, and redline it a lot, what do you think is going to happen. If you drive it like an idiot 24-7 and race everything on the street your car is going to die.

Where is it documented that the engines are run for 5k miles prior to being installed? I need proof.

And if you actually read the thread, you'd realize it's NOT about beating on the car and abusing it (launching, racing, etc) it's only about the validity of high rev break ins which doesn't involve anything really abusive.
