srt4 vs evo 9

lol no I was not giving you quarter mile times read again that is weight to hp ratios the lower the better
and andrew the 60' times might make most of the difference on the trap speeds..the s2000 runs a 13.9 at 100.2 mph with NO TORQUE and RWD traction..not much lower than an evo so in fact that DOES show better up top in the s2000...as for the torque if you're on a roll at 60 neither car is out of their powerband at that pt hp #'s are all I'm concerned with...and finally if i'm messing around on the highway i'll go from 60 to the end of 4th (114) and then let off so whether or not the my car can do 155 I'm not really that concerned. I dont know this is just funny maybe you have a superman car that just beats the laws of physics. From 0, 10, 20 etc up to 60's my car pulled on an s2000 as did Nick's who also knows his sh*t and after that you can see the s2000 start to pull you in slowly but from a 60 mph roll the evo has lost its traction and torque advantage PERIOD. Now slap a gt35r on that bad boy and high-end power becomes a very good friend Its ok this board just makes me laugh over and over with the arguments we have for no reason

Lets say the s2k did dyno at 220whp since the highest stock IX dynoed was around 260s on a dynojet, so lets just say 260awhp. We all know that the ix's were under rated off the factory specs...
s2k curb weight 2855lbs... thats a power to weight ratio of 12.9
ix curb weight 3263lbs... thats a power to weight ratio of 12.55
Any which way you look at it the ix should pull better at the top end due to better weight/power ratio and higher hp... has nothing to do with awd, rwd etc...

The SRT-4s are great fun on the highway, you never know what they may have, kinda reminds me of Honda hybrids. I ran a modded SRT-4 on the freeeway when my Evo 9 had less than 1k miles, I had an additional 210lb friend in the car, it was even from 70+. I could see he had a nice exhaust, but who knows after that.
some of you should let go and have some fun with these encounters, if you lose to something in your Evo give props, the Evo is a very quick car! Enjoy watching the power display if knuckles must be drug

<-------SRT-4 Owner
Stock for stock I guess if the evo 9 driver can drive, he'll win.
I've raced(from a roll) 2 stock evo 8's when my srt-4 was stock from about 50MPH and it was about even until about 70-80ish mph, my car would then start pulling very very slowly. You have to remember about the weight/torque advantage of the srt. Anyway, never raced an Evo 9, though my srt is modded now.
My SRT-4 with Polyurethane engine mounts and eibach springs ran a 13.7@102 with a 2.1 60ft. Stock KDW2's.
Wednesday it'll be gone though, I'll be picking up my WW '06 Evo 9MR
Hoped this helped alittle even thought your comparing a 9 which is alittle quicker.

I've also raced(from a 50ish mph roll) two '05 S2000's when my car had only mounts, springs, & intake and I murdered them both. My opinion is that they are way overated in the acceleration dept. That's just my opinion though.
As for the comment about intakes just being for sound on the srt's...
AEM, Injen, & all other "Metal" intakes ARE just for sound. Your right. The people who get those obviously don't know that a Metal intake on a turbo car generates alot of heat (heatsoak). Had a friend that had a heavily modded srt-4(400HP+) and baught an AEM intake for it. Took it out for a test drive after the installation and 5 mins later felt ALOT slower. Went to touch the intake and it was sizzling. Ripped it off that night and put stock airbox back on. Absolute crap.
My srt has a Psifi Silicone intake with a reversed cone filter. Touch the intake after hours of driving, and still cold. Defenetly felt a big difference in torque.

i recently purchased a 06 MR and i raced my friend with a srt-4 that dynos at 276whp and 343lbs...i knew i wasn't going to win but i wanted too see how i could hang with him...well from a 40mph roll he put about 3 to 4 cars on me by 120.....what im curious is that im getting ready to purchase the warrtalon/buschur stage 1 package with TBE, MBC, Ecu flash, and drop in filter that dynos the ix around 330whp....will this be enough to beat him froma 40mph roll?

But just from the things you listed, I would imagine a MBC or a ECU flash alone would be enough. Anyone else agree?
