help! intercooler piping...

I have been looking at ordering an Intercooler piping kit and I have a few questions. Currently, I have an AEM short ram intake and a K&N drop in filter. I have been kinda intersted in the Injen kit (upper and lower) and I was wondering if this kit would fit with my intake, or would I have to buy an injen intake for it to work? also, does this kit work with the stock battery or do I have to buy a buschur mini battery? also, I know my car will need a tune after installation, but I was wondering how much of a difference anyone was making (AWHP and/or boost) with upper and lower intercooler piping vs. stock ones. I am also running a stock fmic right now, but I was wondering if I'd have to reinvest in another LICP when I eventually upgrade or if the injen LICP can be used with a bigger fmic? any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

Look into the TurboTrix upper intercooler pipe. It's $250 and you will retain stock battery, be able to use your current intake.

As for the tuning, I'm not convinced you'll need a new tune by replacing intercooler pipes.

if you want to see pictures of the pipe go to http://my.prostreetonline.com/member/4tun8

I prefer the injen pipes, but if it comes down to it, I'll do a different brand to keep my intake, but I was just wondering if anyone else was running injen pipes with a different brand intake? thanks.

cool. thanks. yeah, when i bought my car, it already had the aem intake w/drop in filter on it, so i really didn't want to go out and buy another intake and filter and waste my $$. My friend has the injen piping on his evo, but he has the upper injen intake also, so i was just making sure it would all match up before i spent my $$. thanks again for the help

do it right the first time if you are getting IC pipes, go with something like the horsepowerfreaks kit with the mini battery, perfect fitment...

I have the Helix piping kit (upper and lower) with my AEM intake. No problems with fitment, even with the stock battery. It felt like the turbo hit at a lower RPM, but I didn't notice much increase in power anywhere else. The sound of the spool up sure changed though. Now it is really high pitched like a whistle.

I talked to Al about my pipes before I got tuned, and he said they make no difference to the tune. Wait for some other mods before wasting money on an untunable part.

If you don't want to gamble on whether your pipe kit will be compatable with the stock FMIC and aftermarket ones.... get the Nisei Engineering kit. Works great, looks great, fits great, great customer service.

Here is a couple of links you might want to take a look at:

One thing though, you do have to get a mini battery or relocate to the trunk.

Here is a link to the well thought out, well made battery kit:

High End Mini
