I learned on my BF's Lancer OZ..... getting better on our Evo.... after I get awesome I'll buy my own LOL

if they make a rental with a 5 speed then i would go with that, but i dont think the rent 5 speed cars for this very reason. Its worth looking into though. That would be the cheapest way to do it anyway

dude. take a class on saturday mornings. and maybe you can get some kind of certification to get a break on insurance??

Just about any 5 speed car would do the task for that budget. You should learn within a couple of days. I highly recommend Hondas civics, many people have done 100000 miles on stock clutch.

At last check, NONE of the larger rental companies have manual transmissions because US drivers do not tend to drive them. Just the reverse in Europe as you usually have to pay extra to get an automatic. FWIW, I got my Dakota pickup to learn on, still going strong at 160K miles (replaced the clutch before I bought it).

just get any civic under 1k....anything before 92 will be cheap as long as its stock. My friend sold his for 400 dollars

just borrow a friend manual car for a day. It only takes a day to learn how to drive stick.
