ecu flash ?

I just bought a evo IX last month and the only mod i have on it is a br intake filter, and I would like to get a ecu flash by mail. What hp number's would i be looking at with a ecu flash on a stock evo IX with br filter? would it be better on gas since it's chaning factory settings? one other question will it mess up my factory warranty ?

Most people get 20-30 hp on a stock IX... not sure what the filter would do.

Dynoflash tested that filter at 3-4 whp IIRC on a flash (Which apparently is different than an Eflash)

Do yourself a favor and install a mbc and set it for stock boost. You will be able to eliminate the boost taper and you will see more power above 5k with the tune.

As for your warranty.... it was pretty much shot the day you drove off the lot In reality with an Eflash there is no way they can tell if you have changed anything and you can flash the ECU back to stock any time you want with the cable and EcuFlash. At my dealer the BR intake is enough to void the warranty so do not show up with that thing on. Hopefully you didn't have to tear up the airbox to unbolt the MAF. My bolts were so tight that I spun them out inside the airbox which tore up the plastic pretty bad. There is no way in hell they won't be able see that and not know somethings up.

MAF = Mass Air Flow sensor. That's the thing that meters the air intake. It reads the temp and the amount of air that is entering into the intake.

When you mail your ECU to get flashed it will be returned to you with a base map or "tune". All you have to do is install it in the car and drive.

yes there are... most companies will want a list of your modifications to the vehicle, that way they can determine what type of flash to send you based on the mods you have...
