po401 code

i took my car to pull the code and it says P0401 CAUSING ses to come on.should i bring it into the shop?help

Take in to the dealer. Its EGR flow insufficient. Unless you were messing with your EGR valve, you shouldnt have anything to worry about. They should fix it for you under warranty.

also my intercooler pipe came off wed night while driving could that cause my egr to fail?

There are a lot of things that could cause that code to come on. Its hard to tell without looking at it. Maybe when the pipe blew off, it pulled the vacuum line loose that goes to the egr solenoid. If I remember correctly, the egr valve is right under the upper ic pipe. I think I remember seeing it under there. Might want to take a look yourself, otherwise just let the dealer check it out.

Its a very simple fix. There is a vacum hose disconnected. Reach behind your thottle body and feel for a nipple. A vacum line is supposed to be in there. Reach down a little farther and the hose should be dangling around back there. Hook up the hose to the nipple put a zip tie on it and your good

just got back from the dealer and there is nothing they can do till mon when the senior tech comes in.but they said there might be a restriction inside the egr valve.whats weird is that on my way to the dealership the light went off and stayed off
