Miles per Gallon?
Got a 06 ix se bout a month and a half ago under 2k miles on it and i find myself getting less then the 19 miles per gallon rated for city when %90 of the miles are highway. I understand the type of driving has lot to do with it but some how i still get the feeling I'm filling up more often then i should be. Anyone else have the same problem? 225 miles by the time the empty light comes on usually around 12 gallons to fill.
I know u don't buy this car for the gas mileage just wanted to make sure its not just me.
thanks

In boost = low MPG. A heavy right foot will cost you at the gas station. Besides you didnt get an Evo for its MPG, right? Its surely no Civic Hybrid
18-20 with heavy/spirited driving. 5-6 at open track events.
Searched MPG IX:

I get ~20.87mpg over the first 3200 miles on my IX SE.
I'd say 80% City driving to and from work, with backroad driving on the weekends with my wife.
I probably hit WOT twice each way on my commute, and have had some more "spirited" times when just driving around aimlessly.
Hard to compare directly as your driving style might be a lot different than mine is.

05 SSL, plenty of mixed driving, spirited on the weekends - 23mpg. my light usually comes on after 12 gallons burned and around 260 miles on the ticker. highway driving for long trips i usually get closer to 300-310 before the light shows up.
if i remember correctly when i first got my car the mileage wasn't all that great. i think this was a combination of a few things including the break in period and the "holy **** i'm driving an evo" grin i was wearing constantly.

The one time I checked and actually TRIED to stay out of boost I cracked 22.6 mpg. This is with about 50/50 highway and city driving.
To get this I filled the tank to the top, not topping it off. Ran it til it was almost empty. Filled up once again and divided the miles by the gallons added.
22.6 mpg . Not the best, but its alright.
