Food for thought, I walked an STI last night TWICE, and I am stock as can be. No modifications at all.

well, if you didn't think the STi looked like $30k, then the Evo definitely won't. The Evo doesn't have as nice of a dash as the STi does and some of the interior parts are definitely made cheap ... It is based on a $16k car.

Both cars have much more to them than meets the eye. The beauty is under the hood and behind the wheels, not beside the glove box.

If you want an affordable, *****-to-the-wall streetable rally bred racing machine .. get the Evo. If you can settle for something a little slower and want some extra creature comforts, get the STi.

Either way, you can't just "look" at these cars and get any idea of what they are like to own. Drive them.

^ I don't know I have driven a couple STI, you can't tell that the Evo is slightly faster.

What you feel is usually torque, and the STi has a lot of it. However, the scoreboard at the drag strip tells the tale. 03-05s are equals to the STi; 06s are significantly faster on average; 07 STi may have evened it out, though.

I have a bunch of friends with STI's and have drove them. I went with a EVO MR and couldn't be happier with my decision (I am 28, married, and have 2 year old boy), we all love it. The EVO is pure performance and STI is just under it. It is like one person is the president and one is the VP!!

Then get an Evo RS and be happy. But I have a feeling you want more than your post says ...
