The sunroof motor all of a sudden failed and wouldn't slide the window back to the closed position. I had to muscle it back to the closed position and then disconnect the battery as the sunroof motor kept running but was not grabbing on to anything. It closed for good and a quote the local Mitsu dealership gave me was $200 plus $95/hr for labor.

2006 purchased 12/10/06. 10,1xx miles and no mechanical problems. Installed an Espelir catback 1k miles ago and Tein Flex's installed right around the same time. and nothing to report. The Momo steering is getting stretch marks everywhere and splitting at the 6 o'clock position. In typical Japanese import fashion, the paint is very thin and soft.

I've got a persistent chirping noise coming from the drivetrain.
DS says it's a squeaky rubber seal on the drive shaft but they won't start replacing drive shafts for a squeaky noise that doesn't occur 100% of the time.
It's a PITA to hear without the radio on, but eventually it'll get worse and I'll get it replaced through warranty.

1. Brakes have been nothing but a headache since I bought the car. Just installed a new set of SP Performance rotors (my fourth set overall) and it's been nothing but perfection since. Of course, my last set of rotors (~$1000) were installed backwards by the brake shop and ended up warping beyond hope.
2. Squeaks and rattles ad infinitum.
3. Notchy shifting with occassional grinding of gears.
Other than that, the car has been wonderful (and I'm pushing 60,000 miles). No other issues, and I'm still on the stock clutch.

• With 23K on my '03, I'm on my 4th wing. The dealer replaced it twice for clearcoat issues and I replaced the last Big Wing quickly with an '04 Lancer wing. I'm keeping the CF wing in the garage for when I sell the car.
• The dealer also replaced the Brembos for peeling clearcoat.
• The paint pretty much sucks.
• Plenty of interior rattles.
• My favorite was when my rear window exploded while I was just driving along. It was completely, evenly granulated, with only the tint film holding it together. The sound it made when it failed scared the crap out of me! The dealer replaced it, but I've never used the rear defroster again.
I've heard a lot of bad things about dealerships, but mine has been great.

Evo 9, 9,000 miles. Starting around 2,000 miles, would get a grind feeling during hard right or left turn. Dealership said its normal from the type of differentil. I had to pay 100 bucks at around 7,000 miles to change all 3 differential fluid. MAGICALLY the grinding dissapeared. (lazy dealership)
Drivers window button gets sticky, Afraid one of these days it will rain and I wont be able to roll up the window. Im to scared to try to get the dealership to fix it. I will wait unitl its dead before they touch it so they dont screw up anything else.
Found Oil dried spots on intake manifold, some kind of leak the dealership must have seen and fixed it.(factory mess up i guess)
hose clamps come loose even from stock boost 19psi. (should have come stock with t-clamps).
