Exhaust butterfly valve..

Personally I've been thinking about using the atp cutout. Uses a wastegate actuator which determines when to open up the valve to dump. Might be better for those who only want one map. Since IDK anything about tuning I'm not sure if this would make it hard to tune or not but in my mind it seems like it would work.

My 3" exhaust is still too loud even with resonators, so I got an Apexi Active tail silencer that goes into the exit pipe of the muffler. However, I think it is restrictive.
I don't want a cutout that dumps to atmosphere as that would be obnoxiously loud. What I want is quietness on cruise, idle, around villages etc, and then open it up for performance on more deserted roads.
So an in-line butterfly valve would suit me. I would have the butterfly so that when it was closed it would still allow safe exhaust gas flow - for example a typical bung has 2" in the centre and is really quiet, but can still be driven through an intermediate gear without excessive knock sums in the midrange at least.
Trouble is all my exhaust flanges are 2 bolt not three bolt, and all the cutout devices seem to be designed for diverter use with 3 bolt flanges. So nice to see this setup. Just finding space for the motor away from the driveshaft etc.
How is it controlled? Is it just a 2 position switch to run the motor forward or reverse?
Apexi ECV sounds good, but they no longer make the DECS controller, so this would mean a mechanical controller in the cabin, and limit position of the butterfly valve?

I saw this on an STI a couple weeks ago except it was on the dp.
They did a run with it semi closed then with it fully open and it was A LOT louder. Good idea if the cops in your area are *******s. Also helps get rid of the drone if your excepts does it.

I want to hear a soundclip of Smokedmustang´s side exit exhaust. In fact, I´d prefer it if it was titanium and 3.5" all the way through. But, I am totally deaf and a hazard at RxR crossings.
