What size ID/OD Vacuum Hose for Autometer Boost Gauge

Well I tried the hard plastic hose that comes with the Autometer Boost Gauge and it instantly kinked resulting in no reading of boost. What size Inner/Outer diameter vacuum hose did you use? Lastly, I'm assuming you used a Barbed NPT fitting on the back of the Autometer to connect the new vacuum hose? Do you have a size or pics of your set-up. Hava a good source? Autozone or Lowes? I searched but couldn't find this info specificly. Thanks!

I did the same thing on an autometer on an old DSM (started using greddy gauges after that) and I used a 3/8" ID.

I got everything from Ace Hardware, cost < $4.00 I don't remember what the OD was cause they sold them according to ID; maybe 5/8's I dunno. I didnt want to go any bigger cause of routing issues and just being a plain hassle. Those damn plastic lines are worthless.

Did you use a barbed fitting on the back of the Autometer gauge to connect the new vacuum hose?

Yes you have to, there is no other way to connect it. Use a NPT barbed fitting so its removable if you ever want (probably no need though) with teflon paste/tape.
