If that is true then I will be really pissed that I wasted all that money on an 04' STi and now a 06' IX MR

I have 50,000 miles on mine and it runs great! it all depends on how the car is treated and how well you keep up the regular maintnence on it. It's not designed to just fall apart. But my personal choice I would definatly take the evo over the sti!

I would also agree.

After owning them both going with the Evo MR (Because the six speed) was the better end of the deal.

If you drive like a maniac and don't service the car when you are supposed to it will break, just like any other car.

I have 35k on mine and it feels better then two 04 sti's I test drove that had less then 20k on them. The steering felt very sloppy on both compared to the new ones I drove.

I have almost 40k on my 04 STI with no issues at all and I treat it like a cheap hooker. In return it gives me escort service.

No lube just spit on it, a worn out flipped rubber will do just fine, and dont tell your friends cause they will clown you for paying for it(sti or hooker)

The Evo is quick and agile, the steering on the Evo is super tight. I drove an '05 Sti as well and really liked it alot. The Sti has great linear power, you can step on it at any rpm and it goes. Overall I enjoyed driving the Evo more though. The Evo sticks to the road better and turns like a go-kart. I'd say it's personal preference mostly. I love both cars. I'd say go with what feels better while test driving. I think the Evo is a more rewarding car to drive.

My opinion after test driving both, the STi was awesome to put it in simple terms. The moment you turn it on and the cluster sweep effect in the car goes off, you just get this good feeling inside you knowing your gonna have a fun drive. The sti shifted pretty smoothly and i was pretty adjusted to the seats. Steering was ok, good enough for daily driving. Overall bad things I noticed about the 07 sti was hesitation in the throttle, it felt TOO smooth when you got on the pedal a little (too fluid like and not enough oomph in it), the seats were a little uncomfortable after a little while and I slid in them on turns, the rpm shift signal got annoying after a while also, and when I got out the car, everything looked more blue to me from the fabric. Oh, forgot to mention that the boxer rumble = sex.

Evo was the same thing, but steering was tighter, throttle didn't have that hesitation and had that oomph i was looking for. Seats were VERY comfortable (Recaro's ftw), and I could easily read the dash since it was pretty simple (Can be good and bad). Shifting was a little notchy, but was still good. Getting on the highway, I did notice that the Evo could definately pull more, and I still heard that rattle I hated (Both cars). No rpm shift signal and no cluster sweep effect after turning car on.

These are just my personal experiences from driving them, tried not to be too bias. In the end I obviously chose to want the evo more just purely for the fact that I looked at potential more than anything, if I wanted a daily driver with simple things that made life better, sti would be a good choice. Track car would go to the evo though. Have fun choosing!
