Last 3 cars I've owned were:
01 Acura CL Type S
03 M3 Coupe
06 Lexus IS350
The MR is great.
A few things to consider:
The EVO rattles and shakes more than your TL. The interior is not even close to the TL, but the seats are the best I've ever driven in. The radio sucks and even with an upgrade the tin-can acoustics are never going to be the same as a true luxury car interior. The maintenance on your TL was non-existent whereas the EVO has all kinds of nasty maint items (tires, brakes, synth oil, clutch). Don't remember if the TL has side airbags but the EVO doesn't.
All said, the EVO is very raw but liveable as a daily driver.
Get an alignment before you take delivery!!! This should be part of the deal- ask for the printout.

When I hit an open stretch of road I love the Evo. When I'm stuck in traffic I hate it.
In terms of the bilsteins, just pick up a set of PSS9s, they can make quite a difference in ride quality according to the reports on the forums. As for making it look like a "kid" car, take it off and go wingless. Don't mod the car, get the Orbital 2-DIN and put in a navigation system. Then you're set I think!
