yes it's true, stay well under 400 degrees when powdercoating, or a process happens called anealing which can leave micro cracks that can cause the wheel to be brittle, I wouldn't want to hit a pot hole and have my wheel explode... research the term if your skeptical

I'd like to have mine powder coated but I see me changing my mind so many times on colors I think I will just paint them myself....
And for places near you, just open the yellow pages and start calling the powdercoating shops. Or call the media blasting shops or body shops and see who they recomend.
