They are locking out signals from door openers and the 9500i is not alerting to cops that shoot radar in that area. Owners of the 9500i are also complaining that signals that they lock out are not staying locked out from the day before. They also say that their Sirius/XM radio is cutting out because of the 9500i and its GPS function.

Just don't go more than 10mph over on the highway, and anywhere else don't speed, is that so hard you crazy street racers?

I am used many, and my V1 blows the others I have used of the water. Its also upgradeable (at substantial cost) so if they have a major upgrade, you do not have to buy it all over again

lol I try not to speed but in NY everyone does

You Texans have nice 70-80 mph limits

We NY'ers only have 55

I have the X50 and it's ok, I can't see a radar detector being a whole lot better unless it had way more range. They are really only good if there is traffic up ahead of you, so it can detect the cops checking them before the cop checks you. If you are the first one he points the gun at you are toast. Unless the cop is driving around with his radar on all the time, but I have only run into that once.

It will not protect you on an open highway at night... it has saved me a few times when there is traffic around though

FYI the best range I every recorded with my V1 was 6 miles. I got a 6 mile warning before I saw the cop.

Usually I get about a 1.8-2 mile warning.

Honestly, all the reviews that I read said that the RX65 pro was better than the STi. If you are gonna shell out the coin for the STi, you might as well just get a V1. Seriously.

And the best range so far I've gotten out of the RX65 was about 4 miles so far. My friend got a max of 3miles out of his standard escort 8500.

2 simple questions:

1. is there a radar detector and laser jammer all in one?
2. i thought radar detectors were illegal to have, hence i never got one.

I think I might have to consider gettting one soon. This is a must item for the Evo, because you always speed unknowingly.

1. No such thing since having a Laser Jammer is illegal. I believe in all states. Technically you are allowed to have as long as it is not used to actively jam a signal from a cop. Otherwise they can charge with evading the law or something to that effect.

2. Radar Detectors are illegal in two states. I think it is Washington and Maryland. I am sure it is legal in California though. I believe they are also illegal in all states for commercial vehicles.

I have a V1, it is almost awesome. I have gotten two tickets recently from NYS Troopers using their instant on, ouch. Luckily one let me off of a 70 in a 40 with just an exhaust ticket , the other cop was not as nice and added the exhaust ticket on top of the speeding.
