The V1 is great but I got the passport x50 and its saved me many times. Either one of those two are the best choices without a doubt.

for people who like to speed on the highway... say 5 or 10 over

would these radar detectors still save your life or would it be too late?

I never understood these radar detectors.... i mean wouldn't it be too late if it detects the cops laser or whatever they use?

Ditto RX 65 works great and you can get it for less that $250 at Pricegrabber.com. I have a friend who is a cop and like to mess with us a bit. He pulled me over and said "That radar detection device doesn't seem to work too well there Scooter."
"Was I speeding?" I replied
"No."
"Then it works just fine. Cause I picked you up more than 4 blocks away." and this was in city before I even had a chance to see him.

then we BS'd for a while

Some folks dont knowingly speed. You may just be moving with the flow of traffic. the flow of traffic may be 10 mph over the posted limit. Then you could come up on a radar/laser trap.

I have the Bel RX65 pro and it has been flawless. The V1, Bel STi, Passport 9500 and 8500 X50 are all wise choices. Just pick one. And learn to use it.
