Installing and painting a body kit

I'm looking at the APR Evil-R Widebody kit...it's like 3200 dollars...how much would it cost for installation and paint??

$1500-$2000 for the install. You could always go to Maaco though, they will probably do it for cheap but dont expect the paint to last (or match) =)

why not have someone paint it and install it yourself. youll save a lot.

Yeah, I don't think most people would be up for cutting up their own fenders. . . that's a pretty big undertaking.

Now, putting on side skirts and a front bumper are a different story . . .

Yeah, I don't think most people would be up for cutting up their own fenders. . . that's a pretty big undertaking.
But they'll work on their engine without hesitation? I'm not saying work on it if you do not have the expertise, but you should always have (or obtain) a little knowledge. It'll save you a lot of money.

I don't think any of you know the amount of bodywork it takes to make a apr kit fit like factory, they are terrible quality fiberglass and take countless hours to make them smooth to get rid of the wavyness...then you still have to deal with the fact that the kit doesn't just bolt up and their is more trimming and cutting that needs to be done...a apr body kit high quality installation is around 2500 and up...

So how is that different from the thin OEM EVO paint already?

it took us 1 WHOLE day to isntall my body kit.. then one WHOLE day to do the body work on it.. then another WHOLE day to do the painting. it only cost me 300 dollers. that excludes the body kit. im an auto body student and i got lucky happend to save ALOT of money doing it myselfe.

i suggest you get a friend that knows about bodywork and painting.

^^^^yea but yours wasnt the apr 10 peice widebody kit was it?? you can get a basic body kit installed for like 500 so you really didnt save that much
