30k Service Time (questions)
I hope everyone is doing well.
I recently bought a used 2003 EVO with only 24k mileage. I am now at the 30k point and had a few questions.
Questions,
Would going by the service manual and paying a dealer $450 to do the normal 30k service be a good idea? Would I be over spending? Is everything in the manual needed? Should I do more than the normal 30k since it is 4 years old?
I am on a budget, but of course want to make sure that this EVO lasts! I do not have any idea of maintenance done previous to me getting the car within the last 3 months. I do drive it many miles, and in different climates, Chicago area now, New Mexico all summer, and then Central Missouri in the fall.
I have little mechanical knowledge, so would prefer to have a mechanic do any work besides the easy stuff, i.e. changing the oil adding break fluid.
Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

The oil and antifreeze for the 30,000 mile service comes to about $100. So, you could save about $350 if you have an afternoon free and enough service equipment to safely raise the car.

Trying it myself
Well,
I went and ordered a cd with the repair/service manual so I can try to do more. I have a good jack and stands, and I'll just go looking to see what I can do. Anyone know if replacing the belts is a priority, or if it is something u can do yourself without special equipment?
Thanks 4 the input!
