taking off old trunk badge, suggestions???

I just bought the "evolution IX" trunk badge and was wondering whats the best way to take off the "lancer evo" badge that is in the lower left hand corner. I don't want to ruin my paint job! Any ideas?

Some people have tried using dental floss to try to slice at the tape used to hold on the badge.

I personally would probably try a hair dryer and get it fairly hot, then just twist if off. I think the paint will be fine.

Either way, good luck and let us know how you make out

Take some fishing line and forth under the badge till it comes off. Then just remove the old adhesive.
When I did mine, my car had been sitting in the sun so it came off rather easily. But Goo-Gone works well if it doesn't just roll off...

What about the UK badging? I was thinking about taking mine off, anyone have any experience with that. I got the Lancershop oem badge for the IX.

yes, just heat it up with a heat gun, or blow dryer till it gets pretty hot. the paint will be fine. You can use dental floss or just pick it off with your hand. with the adhesive, you can get some tar remover and take that off in seconds.

The floss and heat gus idea that has already been mentioned it good. For your paint the only thing you need to be careful of is if it is still stuck at all when you lift off the emblem, don't let the edges of the lettering dig into the paint. Try and lift them straight off if they are still stuck.

All I did was walk to the back of the car and pull. No heat. No floss. Just pulled it of. Worked perfect. Not a spot of adhesive or anything. Maybe I was just lucky though

Just took mine off my 05. Dental floss....rolled the adhesive off with my fingers, then used goo gone. Worked great.

You can always take it off and look to see if there is fading...if there is, just purchase the oem emblem from Mitsu and put it back on your trunk in the exact same place. Shouldn't cost too much and is easy to do.
