Upping PSI

I got my ecu reflashed and tuned at turboXS this past weekend. We upped my boost as well to 21psi and made 325awhp. When we went for 22psi it blew the oil dip stick out which resulted in oil all over the place . Is there anything I can do to fix this problem so I can increase my boost a bit more?

That happened to me around Dec. of last year........Pain in the *** to clean all that oil. Luckily a friend helped me ............Anyways, I bought a spring from Buschur Racing that attatches on your dip stick for 5-6 dollars. I forgot what it's called, but deffently call Bushcur to send you one of these. It has never happend to me again....knock on wood.....Even at a lot higher boost than you're doing.

Yeah, that happens to a lot of DSMs and now its happening to EVOs. The motor gets older and/or beat on, it starts getting blowby and pressurizes the crankcase pushing the dipstick out!

The dip stick problem is common, but just strapping it down is not a fix!!! There is too much pressure in the crankcase and that needs to be released unless you want to start blowing seals. Do you have an aftermarket intake, and if so, are you running the valve cover breather tube back into the intake? The PCV system has to be working correctly or sometimes it will create too much pressure.

do a compresion test proably a bad piston ring..the spring from buscher is a band aid you can just use a zip tie.but there is most likely something wrong inside your motor ....mine starting doing the same thing i had to rebuild my motor at 72,000 miles....hopefully im wrong but i doubt it....when u force the dipstick down something else is going to break the pressure has to go somwhere your pcv valve will start coming out of the motor...i would not up the boost anymore till u do a compression test good luck.............

If you are lucky, it could be just a bad PCV.....

My dip stick popped out until i had a friend weld a vaccum tube for my breather line on my intake (since buschur's does not come with one). Under boost the PCV is closed and all that pressure is usually sucked out by the breather tube going back into the intake pipe. If that breather tube is not connected than your not creating vaccum anymore.

If the PCV was bad (stuck open) then the car would not run right at all under boost.

And the best way to check if you have bad rings is a cylinder leak down test.
