all i have to say is that people talk alot. So basically, a friend tells someone and things spread like wildfire.

if for no other reason than it is much cheaper and easier to get a solid 400HP (crank) out of a IX. And stock v. stock, the IX still wins thanks to a faster spooling turbo and variable cam timing among other things.
Either way though, you can't go wrong with ANY year of Evo as they are all great cars.

^ Fun place. I'm originally from Oxnard, I used to go down to State Street in SB when I was in high school.
I'm going to save you the whole "Don't buy an Evo because you're going to crash it" speech, but if payments are a big deal to you, then insurance is going to bend you over the table and do you American Me-style.

Ya! Write me a check for 37k and we've got a deal.
The insurance wont be a big deal cuz im going to pay half with my parents. So the issue is saving money for the diffence between my car now and the EVO. I have a job with good income so its only a matter of time.

if you have the money, go for the evo. the only reason the evo turns me off is because they're always having problems, whereas the sti had always ran good.
edit: incase you're wondering, i'm talking stock for stock.

^ What problems? I've had two Evos, both were virtually trouble-free. If you're talking about the very first Evos to come to the U.S., the issues weren't anything crazy, just the typical first year bugs. Even the STi had issues its first year, like how they would ping like crazy and pull timing.
