Cruise Control On An Evo
Basically like the title says. Is it possible to get Cruise Control installed on an Evo? I'm very interested in doing this and it is a huge factor for me to have. I do quite a bit of highway driving and make trips to Colorade quite often for snowboarding...9hr drive from KC.
Money is and isn't really an object as I really want it, although if it's going to cost 3k+ then I might just have to settle with the old brick and string trick....joking
If anyone has any information on this matter, how much it cost, where to get it done, how big of a pita it is or if it will even work with our ECU's I'd really appreciate it.
Also, I did a search for this and couldn't find anything on it. If there is already a topic on this, could you just post the link so I can do my research needed.
Thanks again all!

I don't think he want's a brethalyzer demobilizing system, I think he wants...cruise control.
Yes, you can buy them aftermarket. The only place i've ever seen it advertised around here is a local shop that had it for something like $898 installed. Dunno if that would be more for a standard transmission car or if you can just get an EVO cruise control setup from a wrecker. I have a feeling it's more involved...

I just went to a local auot accessory store and had a cruise control kit installed for $350 3 years ago. Never any problems with it and still works great. Best purchase for me so far as I commute back home 450miles a few times a year.

My friend has cruise control on his Evo, when I saw it I was like hey thats the same cruise control set up on my wifes Scion.
The only hard thing about the set-up is that you have to weld on the brake somewhere to deactivate the crusie control when you press on the brake pedal

You don't have to weld crap.
You simply need to splice into the brake light connection above it. far from welding.
