According to the VIN PDF linked above, they added another engine designation for an '06. The 8th digit in my VIN is "C." I assume that "C" is the 4G63 w/ MIVEC.

So, my car is the #06XXX MR from the Mizushima plant. Cool to know.

well you still got the aluminum roof and vortex gen. to get rid of... but then again RS has aluminum roof too...

I hate GG MRs even though I own one, there is just too f***ing many, time to go two tone black and GG. WTF Mitsubishi !!! I feel this hate, but at the same time I still can't get her out of my mind. At night and in the morning, I lust after her and the power of speed and control. LOL, she's my *****!

ive been wanting to know about this for a long time and noone here asked this question i think so ...

last 7 of tyou vin is what number your car is, but I think its out of all the mitsu cars and I thing 2 or 3 of them designate the factory. About this 1000 mr thing, IDK.

Well if there were 2 millon IX mr's made, I must have one of the first.. last seven digits of mine are 014137. I did buy it in December of 05 though too. First MR at the dealer.

since the serial number is 000001 to 999999, we just have to figure out which serial numbers indicate an actual MR just by looking at the VIN. all evo's are made in Mizushima, the evo MR model seen at the firewall should be CT9ASJGFZL2M. the RS have CT9ASNDFZL2M while the GSR have CT9ASNGFZL2M
