Do I need a 2-ohm or 4-ohm dvc sub?

Ok so I have a 1000w kenwood kac-929.The KAC-929 is a two-channel amp with power ratings of 150 watts x 2 or 460 watts rms x 1 into 4 ohms and 230 watts x2 into 2 ohms.In short Im looking to max this amp out on one subwoofer.Im debating buying an alpine type R with 500w rms.My question at hand is which sub would fit the need to max this amp out?The 2- ohm DVC or 4-ohm DVC sub? Also how would I wire the sub correctly?Hope this doesnt confuse anyone more than it does to me.I get lost with the amp because its not a monoblock but allegedly its 2-ohm stable.Once again Ill be bridging the amp to one sub.Any help or links to threads is appreciated.Heres a link to my amp and specs: http://www3.shopping.com/xPF-Kenwood-KAC-929

You should post this in the audio section. You'll get responses much faster...and probably better response. But, I'll help you out.

Run a single 4-ohm sub and wire it mono. You'll get the full 460W to that one sub. Don't go down to 2-ohm with that amp...won't produce much more power and will have more distortion and lower damping factor. Two things you don't want to have happen for a sub. With a Type R, should hit pretty good if you run it mono...so long as you have a good box for it. Not sure which wiring connection...should be in the owner's manual or maybe even right by the wiring connections. But, usually it's the positive terminal from one channel and the negative terminal from the other channel. Good luck.
