Which turbo....AMS 50 trim, GT 35R, or 37R

Wow this is a little debt, I say your both right, but I myself is looking to buy a new turbo, and I am REALLY looking at the Full Race kit, but I am waiting for some results and money to buy it.

The prices on the Full Race kits are quite high, but i'd like to see some results as well. Any board members running the twin scroll gt35r? I'm also looking into upgrading to a 35 this winter or spring. Anybody also know what the turbo options are?

Well I would not go that far as to say im in trouble because I dont daily drive my Evo. You can achieve 500 wheel hp from the stock motor of course you would need head studs (pistons) and minor things like that. Now if im looking to get 500 whp from it and hammer it day in and day out Monday-Sunday then yes Ill be in for some trouble. Repeated abuse at that level would sooner or later destroy anything but I feel like since the car would be driven about once a week or so I would be ok. Also Im not the type of person to just hammer the car for no reason, I have to have a reason to get on it. However, Im sure when I get a bigger turbo I will get on it I mean its like a kid with a new toy (lol). That spell will not last long once I see the gas consumption so I dont think im in for serious trouble. I could be wrong I dont know everything.

CE if you wanna get tech.. Carlos' full-race kit was a 3037... we will see.. AMS does make superior stuff but it IS too expensive... I paid 3399 for my AFI 35r kit shipped and it is complete with everything just like AMS, and it has a lifetime warranty on the Mani.... Plus Ryan the first guy in AZ with there kit made 595 with it on stock block/head on 114/meth and 511 on meth/gas.. so I am hoping for around 530.. o and BTW his 511 was made on 91 **** gas............

LOL...AMS is too expensive? Have you looked at Full-Race's prices on the twin scroll? If I wanted to go cheaper with a lesser known name in turbo kit building I would have gone with Buschur.

oh God.... your goal should never be just to beat a certain car(particularly those because if they're turbo'd, you're done for), it should be to satisfy yourself without having to think of racing on the street. afterall, it is illegal.

Uhm how do you know he wasn't referring about the drag strip? I don't see anywhere in there where it implies street racing.
Anyways...if you want to take on Z06's and Vipers and "Eat them Alive" you may want to shoot for a higher number. With 500-580 you may certainly beat them but it won't be by a lot.

by far they are, but we are talking about price/performance. Buschur, by far, best bang for buck. AMS well built, reliable kits, a little more expensive. Full Race, same deal, reliable, looks probably not as clean as AMS, but effective, and the twin scroll setup is the desired option that noone else offers right now. So for 700 bucks more then ams's/your setup you get a 30R that spools like stock and puts down power like its suppose to. and an extra wastegate.
- A twin-scroll 3076 will NOT spool like stock on a stock engine. It probably will spool slightly better than a 50 trim, though and should retain slightly better topend
- A twin-scroll 35R will also not spool earlier than a 50 trim on a stock engine.
To the OP: You are going to have some decisions to make. You stated WHP goals are in conflict with your desire to keep early spool. IMO an AMS 50 trim setup on a stock block and intake will meet your spoolup goals, but will fall short of your WHP goals. A C16 tune will get close, though.
Going with a single scroll 3076 (for example, AMS) will lose some spoolup and gain some topend. However on a stock block and intake, the topend differences will be minimal. Either of these turbos are capable of more than the stock setup can provide (read: can use more revs).
If you opt for a twin-scroll 3076 (a'la Full-Race), then you should get slightly better spoolup than a 50 trim setup. This is not a cheap option, and while I believe the 'hype' - err, info - that has been posted so far, there aren't any real numbers to validate the claims yet.
My advice ... sit tight, wait for the Full-Race numbers to come in. Meanwhile do more research and figure out exactly what it is that you want to do with your car.

DUDE AMS is expensive...the twin scroll is high bc it is brand new and everyone will want it...there is alot more going on with that full-race kit than the others... 2 more wastegates and two more dumptubes...and it is harder to fabricate. I wanted a AMS 35r kit before i got my AFI but i saved over 1,000 bucks and still got a great kit.

Well "everyone wanting it" is still to be determined. Everyone wants an AMS kit but their prices haven't changed so your logic is slightly flawed.
AMS has some of THE BEST welders in the Evo community. I've seen AFI's manifold/O2/DP and I know exactly where you saved that $1000. No disrespect...it's what you want and that's cool.
I never said AMS wasn't expensive....but like most things in the automotive world, you get what you pay for. And with the reputation that they have, they can well afford to sell their kits for the prices they do.

i think "the best welders in the evo community" is a very arguable statement. Full Race is just as nice, his AFI i dont think is as nice but by no means terrible at all. Its a very nice product, and don't forget about ETS who fabs all their stuff as well, and there welds look flawless.
