Newbie question. Just bought a new Evo MR, and new to this world.
What are the steps involved in getting sponsored, to get discounted parts?

Ummm...you just bought a Evo9 and now all of a sudden you think you deserve a sponsorship? First you might want to sit down and think why you deserve a sponsorship and why the 10,000 or so other Evo owners in the US don't? Have you been successful in any form of competition?

i have found there are 2 kinds of sponsors,
1- people who really know there car and take it to the next lvl and do thing no one has. which i think those are the best kind of sponsor people.
then there is
2- people who kiss a.s.s. to the vendor and just keep bs and talking there way in and saying they do so much, and get there name out lalala. and more or less those people i never see there cars go fast but just they have the way to talk on the net. lol

It requires a lot of work both in the community and in racing (or show) venues. Basically, you have to show that you can make them money by them giving you parts. I don't consider getting discounts to be a sponsorship really. You should get the parts/service for free, although in some cases, you may get discounts on higher-priced items, but the premise of the sponsorship should be free parts/service, imo.
