sti owner looking to get in an 06 evo

Hey,

So im looking at an 2006 ix in the area and was wanting some evo members advice on this car. if it was a good deal or not...and if there would be a way to talk them down....

asking price - $26,995
miles - 23,000

I guess it has an intake, a fmic, and a mbc, boost gauge....

Is this a okay deal? here are pics....

dude, the asking price on my car was $26,995. I offered them $21,750 and got an email back saying, "Deal, when can we meet you?". The next day I drove 300 miles & went to pick up my car. Its true, low ball offers do work.

Right before I picked up the EVO I made an offer on a '04 STI priced at $25,995 for $22k and they shot me an email back saying they would take it. Turned out to be a lemon though.

be sure to drive it around and see how it sounds. because i know first hand for a fact that they beat those used evo's. i remember when i went to a used dealership and they had this one that was already visually beaten up. but the guy was like yeah we'll take it out and hes like push it as hard as ya want. (knowing i wasn't going to buy it) so just be careful. don't be too worried i got mine used and there was no problem. but if ya get the car be sure to fill it up.

It might be worth having them bring the car to the local Mitsu dealer for an inspection. You set the appointment and pay for it obviously. But the dealer will tell you if the warranty is still valid and will inspect the powertrain.

dont do my old mistak and show him inters at all just come over and give him a deal and show him that you are not gonna make a other offer so 23-25k is Ok

The problem when buying a used EVO with a MBC already hook up, not knowing if it was tuned or not. How much boost was running through it, what are the conditions of the Rod and Crank Bearings? If the oil is brand new, it's hard to tell how it was running. If the oil is a light brown, you could have the oil analyzed.

I'd go for the MR, unless you just hafta have the SSL package and/or mods already on the car. $1500 more for 18k less miles. I personally wanted a car as stock and as low miles as possible when I was shopping. And I wouldn't mind having another gear in my SE, even if the difference in minimal.
