new evo ix mr - scheduled maintenance
I'm reading in various places that EVO require service every 4500 miles. Is this true? Is there a place here that lists factory service recommendations?
Car is an '06 evo ix mr.
Thanks!

are there owner manual PDFs on this site or on another internet resource?
my brother has a deposit on one and we wouldn't mind seeing what we are getting into...

If you go to the mitsu site and under Warranty, then keep clicking on that subject until you get to the 06 Evo and there is an adobe download. Warr and Maintenance is on that file.

thanks for that fueler...
anyone know if not stopping in at the dealer for them to perform these items is grounds for voiding your warranty?
i looked at warranty sticky but it was more SEMA related for aftermarket parts... the plan is to keep this EVO stock...

i think i found an answer to the question... page 23 of the PDF that fueler11 pointed me to...
says "coverage WILL NOT be denied warranty solely because there is no record of maintenance. However failures caused by lack of required maintenance are not covered by warranty. To avoid questions as to whether the vehicle maintenance has been performed, MMNA urges that the owner retain all receipts and/or maintenance records indicating that service has been performed on the vehicle.."
so it sounds like i should just start a book of receipts and such... and keep a log of maintenance...
as for keeping it stock... there is always hope... not totally inexperienced with cars that are tempting to tune/modify... i owned a 1993 RX7 since it was new until april '07 and the only mods i did were an apexi gt catback and a ntech downpipe...

I change my own oil, i use royal purple. i change it every 2000 miles. For the scheduled service i just take it to a dealer with my oil. Its $19 if u have ure own oil. they mark it in ure owners manual and everything is good. No point taken the risk. I also sve my recipts for the oil i change my self.
