How to differentiate between Evo VIII and IX?

maybe the seats too. 8 have the blue seats. 9's all black

JDM IX 2005-2007, US only 2006,some latest 06 VIII is mivec,
black steering wheel,turbo,ecu,bumpers,mivec,acd,black seats,tail lights,different wing(no carbon side)
some IX is different roof alumin

You could also look at the cam gears.
The IX has a different cam gear than the viii.
Hence the different cam gear covers.
An viii cam gear cover will not fit on an ix.

there is a lump on the IX cam gear cover, the VIII is flat.
