My 03 had failing paint on the car, wing, and Brembos. The Motor and tranny were FINE, and I mean like 8000 RPM shifts 12 flat pump gas fine.

BUT has the smallest 9.8 hot side, weakest transfer case and no front lsd, no ACD, it has the least of everything but therefore the easiest to mod.

I'll chime in.. I have 56K on my car....... and I'd take it any day. My 03 sports cams, and the usual upgrades. I put out as much HP as an 05 MR with similar mods.

My tranny never whined, the gears never grinded... I replaced the clutch at 36K and it didn't even have signs of too extreme wear. Sure I have faded calipers, the wing started to fade but I fixed it.

Who's to say the Sti isn't in any worse shape? Of course if you had a magnifying glass and compared, you could say that they are all the same.. but you can't. Use your judgement on the condition of the car and what the person built it for. I drive my own car hard on nice sunny days, but I would not say it's being beaten.. it is built to last and take it. I have seen many videos of someone dropping the clutch on an Sti and breaking it.. so what. I'm sure you can do it too on an Evo

Look at each car, check their compression, peek under the hood and the car to inspect for corrosion and other wear.. use your best judgement.

Is it a wrx or a sti? a little bit of a difference there. I would say go with the STi if its a sti. if not, ehh i would go with the evo, but make sure you have enought to change the clutch, cuz its gonna start grinded anyday

seing how you have asked this on a evo forum 99% of the replies will be the evo.

it comes down to what you want since it is your money. dont let someone else decide for you.

g/l with your purchase

You can def get a better deal for an EVO with less miles too. An 03 with aroudn 30-35k miles should be rgith at 19k. Look around you will find it.

Why is an 06 STi so cheap?

Oh Snap.. only a WRX...

boy do we have issues now.

The car is not weak... but it's like comparing a jet plane to a prop plane.

Every WRX owner that I know of either got an Evo or.. tried to upgrade their wrx to be an Sti.. and dumping lots of time and money trying to get it that way.
