Drive thru carwash and header.

I drove thru the car wash yesterday and the high water pressure goes through the vent in the hood. Has anybody had problems with their manifold cracking due to the rapid cooling of water getting through? Just wondering if anybody had problems, I will probably just take the time to wash by hand but there might be a few times where I take it to a carwash.

Thanks
Kevin

No. It's safe to drive the car in the rain as well.

That's why the stock exhaust manifold comes from the dealer all rusted up. It's use to getting wet from the hood vent. No problems!!!! It just may steam up through the vent when it's cold old and cause visual problems for a hott minute.

i had a megan tubular manifold on my stock turbo and i took it to the car wash twice.... cracked a week later... Idk if its due to the water hitting it or if its just a shoddy paperweight

Not concerned if everyone says it's ok. Just wanted to make sure a new exhaust manifold wasn't in my near future. Thanks for the option though.

I'm a newb as well and I was wondering the same thing. Open the hood, everything looks clean except the manifold! I thought what in the world but if veterans on this board say that OEM manifold was built not to crack then that's awesome.
