FMIC need tune?

I'm not sure why im even asking this question.. i actually feel pretty dumb asking it but before I go ahead and order away I just wanna know....

If I buy a FMIC and LICP... do I need a tune? My mods are a drop in filter and TBE and yes i KNOW my car needs a tune now anyways... but just curious on the FMIC thing.

If you replace the fmic you may have a rise or fall in boost. So a MBC or something should be used to adjust it back to factory. As far as a tune, it would help but I wouldnt tune after installing it, I would wait for more parts before the tune.

J, I just installed a bunch of stuff this weekend, including all piping and a FMIC, a mbc and gauges will be on shortly as well, and I'll be getting a tune as soon as the weather gets decent...my theory is once you do anything that changes the air flow of the car, it's a good idea to get a tune, and I've heard you'll feel and see a great difference in power and smoothness...so I'm looking forward to mine..

No. Just watch the boost as it may jump up a psi or two.

where are you going for a tune? I'm currently searching for my tune. I'll probably end up with dsg. I'll be getting a tune this month hopefully.

when changing the flow charastics you should always adjust the air to fuel ratio, tune. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Tuning it certainly wouldn't hurt but you should be fine as long as you keep an eye on the boost as it may have changed slightly.

yea, def get a tune. nothing will go wrong if you dont, but the only way you will feel the effects from adding a FMIC is by getting a tune. Goodluck man !!

yes get a tune, but before you waste anymore money on tunes, you should plan you builds out. Save tuning money by installing multiple mods at once. That way you are not tuning your car every mod. Next time either save up to purchase all the mods at once, or save the mod until you have like 4 or 5 of them at once to install. You could also save in shop time aswell.

Also agree on getting it tuned! Definatly won't hurt! I remember seeing an SRT4 loose power after upgrading the FMIC.

hmmm ive never thought of it that way

Thanks everyone for the advice

speedjunkyz, Im working on some kind of plan.. unfortunatly ive already installed my exhaust with the impression money wouldn't get short eeeekkk so I think these next few mods will be final for a few years.. thanks for the advice

95talongirl, Yea Ive seen srts with monster IC's and other various IC's that have WAYYYY to much flow. I had one of the WORST flowing intercoolers and somehow... only god knows how added a TON of power to my car.. very strange haha

cool thing about an srt is... you buy a stage 1 pcm... every bolt on is fine without a tune and it still makes power
