+1 on not slowing down for turns.... Even the stock suspension and Recaro seats hold you so tight, as a driver you really can mush the $H@T out of a turn without noticing... especially on highway on/offramps. You gotta be extra careful with passengers though. They struggle. Its gotten to the point where I feel i'm driving casually and i look over to see my passengers franitcally searching for something to hold on to. I noticed this usually happens alot when getting on highway way exits.

I never had 1 regret about buying it.

What is yall's opinion on getting an evo and mileage. What mods can net me something pretty quick but sensible on gas? Thanks!

Chris -

I've been in the same boat as you. I come from a 500rwhp 98 SS Camaro and jumping into the evo has been a pure joy.

I get pretty good MPG too. I make around 330whp range and get around 25 mpg on the highway as long as I stay out of boost. In the city I get around 16-17 mpg NOT taking it easy. If I kept my foot out it more I'd say 18-19mpg would be certainly achieveable.

Don't sweat the exhaust. I have a 3 inch Buschur Turboback Exhaust with no cat and it's almost silent. I think you'll be quite surprized with the sound the car makes. This is coming from a person who has always been around Cobras, SS, WS6, Corvettes, and Mustangs with true duals and high dollar catbacks.
Trust me man.

Wow your idea of almost silent is different than mine

I think he should look for video's with different exhausts on youtube and decide if the sound is going to be too harsh or not. The helix i have is definitely pretty loud IMHO. For gas millage I'm averaging around 20mpg with moderate highway use.

I use to have a 98 cobra i love the V8 sound. U will not get that with the evo but it does not sound like a honda. It is a great car it is fast for being a 4 door sedan. With a couple of mods u can get it to 300-350 whp easy. And it is great on the turns. Go test drive one and see if u like it. Not to great on the gas though
