Again, you're missing the point. If a modded MR is frequently tracked on a road course, its 4th gear will fail. This has been documented over and over by multiple individuals who are hardly novices. It has nothing to do with abuse or any of the other dubiously derived factors mentioned in your other posts. If you don't road race your car, you have little to worry about, but the fact that the 6-speed is ultimately weaker cannot be debated.

BTW, I (ahem) like how you completely ignored a direct reply to my comments, in lieu of repeating the same mantra.

I don't see anyone trying to change someone's mind. Other than the inane cheerleader posts - most seemingly stemming from MR owners - folks have tried to illustrate the pluses and minuses of both model designation and showed how the purchase decision is preference-driven. Uploading "take that!" to those who disagree with calling a car that has a weaker transmission, more weight than most other Evos, a suspension that isn't necessarily an improvement, and features available as options on other models (err.. ) "the best" only goes to underline the motive expressed here.

Folks come here thinking that a MR is a higher performance Evo, and nothing could be further from the truth. It's a great car; enjoy it for what it is.

Smile

In fact the MR and GSR are more alike in their performance. To many MR owner's, the MR's transmission has a better feel and to some the 5 speed feels better. If you call people that support their particular car "cheerleaders", then you simply don't have respect for people that remain loyal to the car that truly pleases them. Why are you so offended by MR owner's being strong in their opinions and what we believe? hey common'...no hard feelings, alright man?

Their drivetrains are identical other than the transmission.

To many MR owner's, the MR's transmission has a better feel.
Some people also think that the Moon is made from Green Cheeze. So what?

Supporting their car and ignoring all else? How is that not cheerleading by definition?

Why are you so offended by MR owner's being strong in their opinions and what we believe?
Offended? Where did that come from? Please try to understand that choosing a given model isn't empirical; it's preference. This most likely isn't what you want to hear, but it's the truth. You'll just have to live with it. Enjoy your MR.

If you understand that, what's with all the "take that" posts and the nonsensical rhetoric?

This is getting silly, as proof by assertion that culminates in a strawman argument isn't going anywhere. Good luck to you.

Was this really necessary? If you think that folks who try to set the record straight and to help noobs are trying to "win" [what?] and to be "better than others," you may have a hard life in front of you. Unbelievable.

You're right. Just because of me not wanting to buy into the facts that you bring up time and time again really does make it harder for me. I wasn't looking for an easy way out. You're right, things may become harder for me in the future and perhaps right now. Whatever's hard for me will make me stronger as an individual. It doesn't matter anymore if I'm right or wrong. The hard life in front of me will only me stronger. No complaints from me. And by the way....I still am "die hard" for my MR. See you around guy.
