A mechanic once told me that choosing between the Evo and sti is like choosing if you like vanilla or chocolate ice cream. Both have great performance and handling.
Personally I like the Evo b/c not as many people have them in my area.
And between the VIII and the IX I just think the IX looks that much more bad@$$
and if you still can't decide then I think this about sums it all up...

Take it from me... get ur self an Evo and u wont regret it...
Ive had 3 STi's before I got myself and Evo IX. STi's are nice but then being on the other side, Evo are something totally different. If your looking to have a car that you wanna mod and have fun.. EVO. Ive put in a lot of ca$h into my previous cars...but now having an Evo.. i guess it wasnt worth it!
STI's are nice on the interior and other stuff, but movin to see whats under the hood, u'd be amazed to see what an Evo can do.
Best of Luck with whatever you gonna get! And remeber.. MOD wisely.

Yea, we blow head gaskets all the time.................Been on here quite awhile now, and I hardly hear of tuned Evo's blowing gaskets all the time??? 4G63...........need I say more? End of thread.

Evo is more hardcore. STi is more refined. Both are fun. Drive both and go from there. I've only driven the Evo so far and I'm hooked. I'll be taking delivery next month.
