Evo IX SE Noob
Hey Guys,
My name is Tyler, I live in SoCal and I just got my Evo IX SE GG with 2,500 miles on it a couple weeks ago! Still smells new! I love it.
I started modding already. I havent lost the mod bug from my WRX...
First thing was to remove the wing (sorry, im just a wingless guy I guess), second was to tint the windows, 3rd was to cut the the RC antenna, and I just picked up a Perrin DP, A spec Ti test pipe, and Greddy Ti racing catback (weighed in at 11.4 lbs!)
I kept my innovate lc-1 from my wrx and I am going to tune with ECUflash/MitsuLogger.
I am wondering what I should do about the intake. Just a K&N drop in, or a Buschur Racing Evolution Air Filter Kit, or a Buschur Racing Evolution Mass Air Pipe & Filter Kit?
Glad to be a part of the Evom community.

how much power you plan to make? get the buschur if you want over 400hp. drop-in won't give you idle problems. if you make over 400hp, i assume you will get a EMS so idling won't be an issue.
i have a K&N for sale, if you are interested.

I've heard that if you try to push for high horsepower, than you might want to consider an upgraded intake system. I have the K&N drop-in since I want to keep it simple for me and my car. Nice choice on the cat back exhaust! I have the Trust Ti-R. I really like the titanium catback's made by Greddy. All the best.

you dont need to waste your money buying that intake adapter from vibrant...i got an adapter from checker auto parts...it was $10-15 and the filter is whatever you want...save on those shipping and handling charges...just go to checker or autozone...the intake adapter is meant for 2g DSM but it fits PERFECTLY.
congrats on the purchase, welcome to evom and happy modding! lol.

The color of his car.... Graphite Gray
tyler, it all depends on what youre looking for... id say for now, until you become more fimiliar, drop in... k&n has proven to be the best so far... others will have their opinion.. once you become more fimiliar with the path yo wish to travel power wise, then decide on which intake to get!
congrats on the evo

...Just remember...The more mods, the more worries. At least for me it was. (things start to pop loose, weird noises start coming on, clutch goes bad...DARN IT!) hahaha
